Vaiyākaraṇasiddhāntakaumudī

The Vaiyākaraṇasiddhāntakaumudī (a.k.a. Siddhāntakaumudī) is one of the most important and popular commentaries on the Aṣṭādhyāyī. Like the older works e.g. the Rūpāvatāra and the Prakriyākaumudī, the Aṣṭādhyāyī sūtras are thematically reordered in the Siddhāntakaumudī. In the tradition in many parts of India today, the Siddhāntakaumudī is the most popular Aṣṭādhyāyī commentary used for didactic purposes. The Siddhāntakaumudī has received many commentaries, e.g. Bhaṭṭojidīkṣita's own Prauḍhamanoramā, Nāgeśabhaṭṭa's Laghuśabdenduśekhara and Bṛhacchabdenduśekhara, Vāsudevadīkṣita's Bālamanoramā, and Jñānendrasarasvatī's Tattvabodhinī.
